Hawangen, GermanyDouble membrane gas storageYear of construction 2010 / refurbishment 2023 - 3 storage tanks
The biogas plant built in 2010, which is fed with renewable raw materials, was upgraded and refurbished in 2023. The existing gas storage tanks were converted into a usable gas storage volume of approx. 2,700 m³.
The double-membrane gas storage tanks were also equipped with a belt tensioning system, service opening and pressure gauge. The existing substructure could still be used.
Dombühl, GermanyDouble membrane gas storageRefurbishment and expansion of the Nawaro biogas plant in 2020 from EPDM to double membrane gas storage with a usable total volume of approx. 2500 kW.
4 x hemispheres with upstands between 1.0 m and 2.0 m
The double membrane gas storage tanks were converted into a double flat profile and were equipped with additional service openings, new measurement technology, pressure sensors and overpressure protection. The existing substructure could still be used for all four tanks.
Weihenzell, GermanyDouble membrane gas storageIn 2022, the storage power plant in Weihenzell was extensively renovated and expanded with a view to the future. As part of this, the existing tanks were converted from single-shell covers into double membrane gas storage tanks with half domes. The new gas storage solution was installed with a stainless steel U-profile fastening, while the substructure was retained in its entirety.
In addition, two new tanks with a usable volume of over 7,000 m³ were constructed, one with a special height and the other with a half dome.
Today, the Nawaro plant has an output of approx. 3,700 kW.
Obing, GermanyDouble membrane gas storageThe environmental station Seimlhof operates a 75 kW biogas plant that supplies both electricity and heat for the connected educational farm's own needs. The plant was built in 2019 and consists of a tank with a dome-shaped double membrane gas storage tank. It is supplemented by modern measurement technology and a pressure safety device to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Insingen, GermanyExternal double membrane gas storage
External double membrane gas storage installed on a concrete foundation, with approximate dimensions of 68 × 30 m and a gas storage capacity of about 20,000 m³, commissioned in 2025.
The gas holder serves as a satellite site of the main plant located approximately 1.5 km away, providing additional gas storage capacity to enable flexible plant operation. The site is equipped with two BHWK units, each with an electrical output of 1.5 MW. In addition, a hot water buffer tank with a volume of approximately 3,000 m³ is installed.
